Summary of Book
Malala Yousafzai stood up to the Taliban and fought for the right for all girls to receive an education. When she was just fifteen-years old, the Taliban attempted to kill Malala, but even this did not stop her activism. At age eighteen Malala became the youngest person to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for her work to ensure the education of all children around the world.
Malala’s courage and conviction will inspire young readers in this beautifully illustrated biography.
Author Biography
Rukhsanna Guidroz was born in Manchester, England. With a Persian-Indian father and a Chinese Raphaële Frier was born in Lyon in 1970, where she never lived. She spent her childhood in Bordeaux and her adolescence in the Paris region. After her Parisian years, where she studied psychology, education sciences and held her first teaching positions, she moved to Marseille where she continues to teach and of course to write.
Illustrator Biography
Aurélia Fronty studied textile design at l’École Duperré in Paris before she began to illustrate children’s books. Her colorful, naïve-style art is inspired by her Catalan roots as well as her travels in Africa and Asia. She has illustrated more than forty titles, which have been published around the world.
