Author Biography

Pat Mora, born in El Paso, Texas, is an award-winning poet and author of books for adults, teens, and children. Her awards include a Poetry Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, a Golden Kite Award, American Library Association Notable Book Awards, and honorary doctorates. A former teacher and university administrator, she is the founder of the family literacy initiative Children's Day, Book Day, El día de los niños / El día de los libros, (Día). The year-long commitment to linking all children to books, languages and cultures, and of sharing what Pat calls "bookjoy," culminates in celebrations across the country in April. Pat lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico and invites you to visit her at www.patmora.com.Ariana Stein is the co-founder of Lil’ Libros, a Los Angeles-based publisher that celebrates bilingualism and Latin American culture. Since 2014, she has co-authored a variety of first concept children’s books. Recognizing the bilingual gap and diversity void in children’s literature, she became passionate for bilingual education and multicultural books. In 2016, she left her corporate job to focus on Lil’ Libros. She has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, Forbes, CNN, KTLA, and more.


Illustrator Biography

Cecily Lang does most of her art with cut paper. It’s easy to work with, and it creates texture. After she finishes her work and perfects it, that’s all she needs to make herself happy. Cecily Lang likes doing her art on mythology and multiculturalism. She is also trying to experiment with 3D art.
