Author Biography
Arlisha R. Norwood received her Ph.D. in history from Howard University. She has worked for several museums, historic sites, and cultural organizations, including the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum for African American History and Culture. She’s committed to engaging a broader audience and transmitting her love of history through innovative and exciting methods.
Illustrator Biography
Anastasia Magloire Williams is a visual communicator who considers herself more of a storyteller than simply a designer or an artist. Using a unique blend of graphic, illustrative, and painterly illustration, she believes that "style" should always serve the story, or concept.
It is her goal to tell stories that are inspiring, unique, and refreshing; to take entertainment media beyond the mundane and repetitive. With a B.F.A in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design and a Minor in Sequential Art, as well as growing professional experience, she has honed a diverse set of skills within various industries. Currently represented by the Bright Agency, Ana is passionate about the visual communication process and frequently explores new techniques and outlets for her creative thought and ideation. Most importantly, Anastasia aspires to inspire others as she has been inspired by the collaborative efforts of creatives from all backgrounds and disciplines.
