Author Biography

Thrity Umrigar loves cats and puppies and kids and sparklers and starry nights and ice cream and summer vacations and festivals. When she is not eating ice cream and playing with cats and dogs, she daydreams and writes award-winning books for adults and kids, including the picture books When I Carried You in My Belly and Sugar in Milk. Thrity lives in Cleveland, Ohio, and treasures the letters she receives from young readers.

Illustrator Biography

Nidhi Chanani likes to dream kind and creative dreams. She’s the author of the graphic novel Pashmina and the bilingual board book Shubh Raatri Dost/Good Night Friend, as well as the illustrator of the picture book I Will Be Fierce. Nidhi draws and dreams in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband, child, and cat.
