K is for Kwanzaa explains different facets of the holiday, from A to Z. Each letter of the alphabet represents an English or Swahili word, accompanied by a simple definition explaining its importance or relation to Kwanzaa. For example: "A is for Africa/B is for Bendera/C is for Candle."
Author Biography
Juwanda G. Ford was born in New Orleans and worked in children’s publishing before she wrote her first book, A Kente Dress for Kenya. She is also the author of Together for Kwanzaa, K Is for Kwanzaa, and Shop Talk.
Illustrator Biography
Ken Wilson-Max has illustrated more than fifty books for children, including Big Red Fire Truck and Little Blue Engine. He and his wife live in London, England.
